2026 · Indie makers, developers, bloggers, content creators · MVP shipped; iterating
Makershot
A fast AI tool that generates 1200×630 Open Graph images from one text prompt — prompt → generate → preview → download.
Role: Creator

Purpose & goal
Ship the smallest OG-image generator that feels instant: one prompt in, a clean preview out, and a download you can use immediately.
Status
Live — MVP flow: prompt → generate → preview → download.
Challenge
Most OG-image tools are either template-heavy or slow; makers need a simple “one prompt → done” flow that still feels trustworthy and repeatable.
Spotlight
Instant-feeling generation loop
Problem: When generation takes a few seconds, unclear states feel broken and users bounce before the first result.
What I did: Clear single-action flow, obvious loading, predictable preview updates, and a download action that’s always where you expect it.
Approach
- Designed a single-path MVP flow (prompt → generate → preview → download) with clear loading and retry states
- Kept UI minimal so first-time users succeed without learning templates
- Added trust framing around a free tier and future pricing clarity
Solution
A focused generator at `makershot.tech` with a quick prompt input, consistent preview, and direct download — designed for shipping launches and changelogs.
Impact
- Lets makers ship consistent social previews without opening a design tool
- Reduces time-to-share for product updates and blog posts
Free tier: up to 5 generations/day (Pro planned later with clear pricing before charging).
Lessons learned
- For creator tools, speed and clarity beat feature depth early.
- Trust is part of UX: free limits and future pricing need plain language.
